Unfortunately, it suffers from a couple of issues, mostly revolving around its still-small player base.Dynablaster is an excellent PC conversion of Hudson's popular PC-Engine arcade/puzzle hybrid Bomberman (although why they had to change the popular name to this obscure title is puzzling). New game modes, improved visuals, and an extended single-player story mode make this a certified hit, whether you’re a new or returning franchise fan. Overall, Super Bomberman R 2 offers more content than any game before it, making it a worthy celebration of the arcade title’s 40th anniversary. These issues make certain parts of the game hard to enjoy. In worse cases, you’ll have to wait for extended matchmaking periods. Also, the online modes are fun in theory, but its very small player base means you’ll be playing against bots. Players basically think that it’s a repackaged version of the previous titles, with the Castle being the original addition. This game also has a Stage Editor feature, letting you create custom Castle designs.įans will find this game inadequate as a sequel. More importantly, this game introduces a team battle with the Castle mode, pitting the Attackers and Castle defenders against each other. Aside from this, the game also includes beloved game modes such as Standard, Grand Prix, and the massively online Battle 64. The game has a single-player Story Mode that boasts over 50 levels. Each level has a themed design as well as a unique gimmick-warps, conveyor belts, and pitfalls, among others. However, it can also take out the player when hit. Not only does your bomb destroy bricks and breakable blocks, but it also eliminates enemies. You play as a Bomberman and place explosives. Super Bomberman R 2 follows the same basic premise as any other game before it.
